We are a 26 and 28 year old married couple and have been trying to conceive for a year. We have female factor and male factor infertility. My husband has a small to moderate varicocele and I apparently have PCOS. My husband had surgery as a teenager on his varicocele but it returned, and we have chosen not to go through surgery again. We made this decision based off of research. There is just not enough guarantee that surgery would improve sperm counts, morphology and motility. And if it did improve the sperm the percentage of improvement is not that great to even go through with the surgery and risk making the sperm worse. So here we are seeing an RE 1hr 30 min away from home trying to get me to ovulate and get a swimmer to fertilize an egg. Oh, and then have that egg implant into my uterus and stay implanted and not miscarry.
